Head 2 hours west into the Sahara Desert. Stop in an oasis town with an oasis lake, waterfall, and prehistoric whale bones. Then we will head on a 4X4 safari across the dunes, with the chance to try sandboarding. Tonight, camp under the stars in a remote Bedouin-style camp.

Watch the sunrise over the dunes before another desert safari. Back in oasis village, enjoy a pottery class or shop around, then return to Cairo. In the evening, guided wander through Old Cairo’s squares and cafés before a traditional Egyptian dinner overlooking the Nile. Egypt is notorious for hustling and haggling tourists, especially Cairo, and a lot of independent travelers have negative experiences in Egypt, but we have a very experienced guide who will ensure we are insulated from aggressive touts but still have an authentic and enjoyable Egyptian experience

Spend the morning at your own pace — shop the Aswan souk, explore Nubian culture, or simply relax. For those who wish, an optional add-on excursion to Abu Simbel is available. In the afternoon, we will board our chartered traditional Nile dahabiya exclusively for our group, creating a private sailing experience “down”(north) the Nile. Unlike large cruise ships carrying hundreds of passengers, this is a smaller sailing vessel reserved for only our group, allowing for a more intimate way to experience the Nile river. The cruise will stop at Kom Ombo Temple followed by a dinner on the top deck.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. All meals on the cruise are specially prepared by a chef on board.
Optional Add-on: Abu Simbel day trip (~$100). 4-hour drive each way, departs 4am. One of Egypt’s most iconic sites, but due to distance and possible temple fatigue, it’s offered as optional.

A relaxing day of sailing the Nile, with stops at small villages and riverside temples. The dahabiya is able to stop at lesser visited and quieter destinations compared to the standard Nile cruise ships. For those who wish, there’s even the chance for a refreshing swim in the Nile.

Enjoy another tranquil day on the river as we sail down the Nile. Away from the crowds, watch village life pass you by. Sunset drinks and dinner are served on board. This is the highlight of the tour, chilling on the top deck slowly cruising down the Nile.

After breakfast, arrive in Luxor and disembark from our Nile cruise. We will explore Karnak temple and then experience Luxor temple’s light show at night. Then we will have a nice group dinner for our last night.

Morning visit to Luxor’s Valley of the Kings to see famous Pharaohs’ tombs. In the afternoon, fly back to Cairo and transfer to an airport hotel. Our goal isn't to create the cheapest Egypt tour. It's to create an unforgettable small-group experience that delivers exceptional value while maintaining high standards of comfort, safety, and service. If you can find a better valued Egypt tour with a Dahabiya cruise, I will match the price.

Egypt has a very strong tipping culture ingrained in daily life, and for many travelers it can feel constant and overwhelming.
To remove that stress, we collect a $100 USD group tip at the start of the trip. This covers all structured tour-related tipping for the entire journey — including our local guides, drivers, boat crew, hotel staff during group stays, and restaurant team members during included meals.
Our goal is that you don’t have to think about tipping throughout the trip.
That said, Egypt’s tipping culture extends beyond formal tour settings. In rare cases — such as independent time, personal services, or spontaneous assistance outside of Far Out’s organized activities — you may choose (or feel inclined) to give a small tip directly. These situations are optional and outside of our purview, but we want you to be aware they will occasionally arise.

Tour Guides: I am partnering with a highly rated Egyptologist guides with a wealth of experience, they will be with us for the entirety of the trip. We have specialty Bedouin guides for the Sahara Desert tour and a five star staff on-board the Dahabiya Nile cruise. It is crucial to have a good guide in Egypt to shield you from the Egyptian touts.

Transportation: All transportation mentioned in Itinerary. Private mini-bus for all transport. Privately chartered dahabiya Nile cruise. Domestic flight from Luxor back to Cairo OR private transfer from Luxor to Red sea if you opt for the Red sea extension. The transfer and domestic flight are about equal in value.
Accommodation: all accommodations are included. Shared room with two double beds. Solo travelers are welcome and will be paired with same gender roommate. All highly rated boutique hotels.
Meals: Daily breakfast and lunch are included, along with most dinners. Three dinners will be on your own to allow flexibility for personal exploration. On arrival day, only dinner is included, and on departure day, only breakfast is provided. Please refer to the daily itinerary for specific details.
Consultation: pre trip consultation to find the best international flight and to go over packing list. I will start a WhatsApp group chat and host a virtual information session a couple months prior to departure

We are carefully watching developments in the Middle East and safety is our number one priority.
Egypt is currently the safest country in the Middle East and remains geographically separate from current conflict zones. Egypt does not have any US military bases and remains neutral with a strong focus on safe tourism.
If a broader conflict were to escalate and impact travel to Egypt, we would cancel the tour and it would be fully refundable.
Travel insurance is required for the trip and I recommend purchasing comprehensive coverage to protect against any unexpected disruptions, delays, or emergencies.

Physical Rating: Moderate. There are no physical challenges on this trip, but a lot of walking. While its a comfortable tour, it’s not without adventure… We will be camping in the desert and we will be taking a sleeper train. Egypt is not too hot in November and quite pleasant during the day, a little chilly at night.
Group: 10-13 max travelers. Ages ranging from mid 20’s to early 60’s. Mean age is usually in the 30’s & 40’s range.
Visa/Passport: Visa required. There are two options- Visa on arrival for $25 USD or E-visa ahead of time. I recommend just doing the $25 USD visa on arrival- it’s quick and efficient. The E-visa website is confusing to navigate and there are fake scamming E-visa websites. Passport must have 6 months validity.
Safety: Egypt is currently safe to travel. Egypt is not for the faint of heart it can be quite intense culture shock, but our guide will ensure we are very well taken care of. Travel insurance is required.
Comfort: Egypt is a pretty intense place to travel. It’s a tough situation for the Egyptian economy that is too reliant on tourism, creating a lot of high pressure sales/touts. I have arranged for the best guide to ensure we experience Egypt comfortably. This is the best way to experience Egypt, but like all our tours you need to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and have an adventurous spirit.
Food: Our guide will ensure we are eating at quality restaurants that are safe for our stomachs. Treated drinking water will be available for the entirety of trip.
